Sean Poole is the President of Kyra Solutions’ IntelliRoad Division. Prior to joining the Kyra family in 2021, Sean served for four years at the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) under Secretary Elaine Chao. Sean held many roles, including Director of Intergovernmental and Tribal Affairs, and performed the duties of Deputy Assistant Secretary of Intergovernmental and Tribal Affairs. During Sean’s time at USDOT, he participated in both the technical review and senior review of over $9 billion of annual discretionary grants which included emerging technologies, smart cities, and connected vehicles projects. He also represented Secretary Chao on three White House Councils, including the Infrastructure & Technology Council, Native American Affairs Council, and the Governors’ Initiative on Regulatory Innovation. Prior to the USDOT, Sean served as an analyst for Connors & Company Financial Services, which focused on state pension funds and new emerging markets.
Sean received his bachelor’s degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he earned a varsity letter on the baseball team and was a four-year letterman on the football team. He is a graduate of the Harvard Business School’s Program for Leadership Development and Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Sales. Sean currently lives in Tallahassee, Florida, with his wife, Heather, and son Devereaux.
