Bernard Schmidt



Bernard is responsible for providing strategic and technical leadership to JTA’s Automation Division.

Prior to joining the JTA in January 2019, Schmidt held multiple executive and senior leadership roles including general manager at Amazon; general manager of UTAS Customer Service Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul business at United Technologies Corporation (UTC); operations director at Turkish Engine Center (TEC); and global materials manager of Pratt & Whitney Engine Centers in Connecticut, Georgia, as well as international sites. Schmidt is a member of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) and LEAD360 Senior Leadership Organization.

Schmidt earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Rochester and a master’s degree in management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He is a graduate of the Darden Business School Executive Education program and is a certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt, ACE Associate and Quality Auditor.
