Rudy Powell is currently the Director of the Traffic Engineering and Operations Office for the Florida Department of Transportation. He has more than 32 years of engineering experience, including 29 years in the transportation industry in both the private and public sectors, including almost 19 years with the Department, where he has held the positions of Interim Director of the state Materials Office, director of the office of Maintenance, State Construction Engineer, State Specifications Engineer, and Structures Area Engineer.  

Rudy earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Florida and South Carolina.

Rudy enjoys reading, going for long walks, learning new things, and just being outdoors.
