The Orlando program included registration, demonstrations, exhibits, student posters, and two days of summit sessions.
General sessions were held in Sebastian K, with exhibits and posters in Sebastian Prefunction.
The schedule paired general sessions with ACES breakouts and a dedicated event-lot demonstration program.
The 2021 Leadership and Innovation Award recognized Lake Nona Community.

- Lessons in Automotive Research and Future of Agriculture
The morning program featured Carla Bailo of the Center for Automotive Research plus agricultural automation with Bear Flag Robotics, University of Florida, U.S. Sugar, and Florida Farm Bureau.
- Port to Porch Freight Mobility
Kirsten Korosec of TechCrunch moderated a freight session with TuSimple, Gatik, Nuro, and mobility leaders focused on goods movement from port to final delivery.
- ACES Breakouts
Breakouts covered public transportation automation, unmanned vehicles for public safety and hurricane response, Orlando EV readiness, FDOT CAV/TSM&O, and deep-dive Q&A.
- National and State AV Policy and Safe Deployment
The afternoon program included Reason Foundation, FDOT, Venable, Gatik, Luminar, Perrone Robotics, Cruise, Lyft, Stantec Autonomy, and Via.
Wednesday - Electrification, Workforce, and ACES
- FDOT Secretary Opening and Pivot to Electrification
FDOT Secretary Kevin J. Thibault opened Wednesday before an electrification session with Hitachi, Tesla, ChargePoint, SwiftMile, and SparkCharge.
- Founders, Funders, Futurists
Local Motors, RedBlue Capital, and Princeton Autonomous Vehicle Engineering joined a future-focused discussion on founders, capital, and technology direction.
- Shared Mobility, EV Infrastructure, and Central Florida Roadmap
Breakouts covered shared-use mobility, Florida EV infrastructure implementation, Central Florida emerging technologies, dynamic charging, and the FDOT future of ACES.
- Student Shark Tank, Automation Workforce, SunTrax, and 2022 Preview
The closing track included student innovation, workforce strategy, FDOT ACES activities, SunTrax, university research, and the Jacksonville 2022 summit preview.

Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Aty
Pegasus Professor & Department Chair, Civil, Environmental and Construction Engineering, UCF
Dr. Abdel-Aty is a Pegasus Professor and Chair of Civil, Environmental and Construction Engineering at the University of Central Florida. He leads UCF’s Future City initiative and launched the university’s first master’s program in Smart Cities. Internationally recognized for his work in transportation safety, proactive traffic management, and connected vehicles, he has led over 75 research projects and published extensively. He is a Fellow of both American Society of Civil Engineers and Institute of Transportation Engineers and has received numerous national and international awards for his contributions to safety and mobility.
Albert Gore
East Coast Lead, Public Policy & Business Development, Tesla
Albert Gore is the East Coast Lead for Public Policy and Business Development at Tesla. Previously, he was Deputy Director, Policy and Electricity Markets—Finance at SolarCity, and prior to that was Vice President of Business Development at Strategic Capital Partners, a commercial real estate investment and development firm. He has a bachelor’s degree in government from Harvard College and a master’s degree in business administration from Columbia University.
Megan Sirjane-Samples
Director of Government Relations, Lyft
Megan Sirjane-Samples is the Director of Government Relations for Lyft, the nation’s leading rideshare and transportation network company. She leads a team of professionals across the Eastern region, developing and executing Lyft’s legislative, regulatory, political and policy strategies. Prior to Lyft, Megan served as an advocate and lobbyist for a variety of interests in roles at KSF & Associates and the Florida League of Cities. She has also held roles in the legal and communications fields. Megan is a graduate of University of South Florida and lives in St. Petersburg, FL.
